Stock stays visible between the dock and the rack.

Put-away is executed as a tracked task on a handheld, so goods that have been received but not yet placed are never invisible to the rest of the operation.

Everything on this page describes behaviour running in live warehouses today. Where a capability is optional or per-warehouse, it says so.

How placement is controlled

Four things put-away gets right.

The gap between “received” and “on the shelf” is where stock goes missing in most warehouses. Linari keeps that gap visible and scan-confirmed.

Task-driven, scan-confirmed

Placement is confirmed against the location, not written down and entered later.

Case or piece

Warehouses that work in cases can hold and move stock at case level; others work in pieces. Set per warehouse.

Picking-face priority

Locations are ranked so that picking faces are treated differently from bulk storage when stock is allocated.

Location and zone structure

Aisle, bay, level and zone are first-class, so location logic and reporting follow the physical building.

Straight answers

What operations managers ask about put-away.

Goods are received but not yet placed. Can the rest of the system see them?

Yes. Received-not-yet-placed stock is a visible state, not a blind spot. It cannot silently disappear between the dock and the rack.

We work in cases in one warehouse and pieces in another. Does that work?

Yes — case or piece handling is set per warehouse. One live site runs case-level handling, the others run pieces.

How does the system know a picking face from bulk storage?

Locations are ranked. Picking faces and bulk storage are treated differently when stock is allocated, and the location structure — aisle, bay, level, zone — follows your physical building.
